Om du allerede har billett / Already have a ticket?

ENG: - Those who have a seat on a flight that has not been cancelled should show up as normal - no need for new tickets, answers press manager Tonje Sund in SAS.

Er reisen kansellert? / Has the flight been cancelled?

ENG: Contact SAS or your tour operator depending on who you booked the tickets with.

Several residents Svalbardposten has spoken to tell about a frustrating situation where they now experience that the tickets for the exemption flights are only posted for booking online and that they themselves have to watch for when tickets are released and book the tickets again, instead of being rebooked.

When Svalbardposten on monday contacted the press manager of SAS, Tonje Sund, about the problem and asked for more information about how people should get tickets to and from Svalbard by plane, we got this answer:

- We are familiar with the problem and we are working on how we can best solve booking to / from Svalbard.

Planlagt helsereiser? / Any planned patient travel?

ENG: On Wednesday 6. June, we wrote about the consequences of the strike for patient travel between Svalbard and Tromsø.

Communications adviser at UNN, Per-Christian Johansen, said then that those from Svalbard who are affected by the strike and who then are not able to show up for appointments will get help with rebooking through «pasientreiser».

- «Pasientreiser» will be in dialogue with those concerned, to look at the opportunities you have. But since there are no direct flights to Tromsø now, then at the moment a cancellation is a fact you may have to move the appointment, Johansen said.

He followed up saying that when the flight is canceled, those who were supposed to have an appointment they now are not able to get to, must contact the hospital in which the appointment is supposed to be held, to discuss either moving the appointment or to look at an alternative travel method to get to Tromsø.

If you are not traveling anymore or already have left

ENG: SAS is said to have informed the Governor that due to technical problems with the booking systems, several aircraft appear to be fully booked.

Thus, the Governor requests on his Facebook page that people who have already managed to travel down from Svalbard to contact SAS to release the tickets people are still listed on.

They write: «These passengers are encouraged to contact SAS at SAS Customer Care to confirm whether they will have their seat or not. Alternatively, they can send an email to handling.lyr@wideroe.no with name, ticket number and booking reference, so that information can be communicated locally to SAS and the seats can be released.».
