More local bears
A polar bear with a cub at Revneset and a bear shot at Forlandet were all local bears. The increase in bears on the west coast of Spitsbergen is likely to lead to more confrontations with humans.
The female polar bear at Revneset is 25 years old and last year had three cubs. One is still alive and traveling with its mother to settled areas.
